For one thing, the box has gotten a bit of a makeover with the new Ovi Music Unlimited sleeve.

It also looks like the box itself has gotten a slight redesign. Featuring a Nokia 5800 in a Car kit.

The retail package comes with all the contents of the 5800 available (minus the stand that was originally sold along with it at launch) and also comes with Ovi Music Unlimited and a Car kit.

The 5800 comes with a slightly different car kit than the Nokia N97 and 5230, the Nokia Holder Easy Mount HH-20 and the CR-119.

This holder is, ofcourse, more suited to the Nokia 5800, and can be placed on any flat surface (like say, a car windshield).

Y’all already know our opinion about Ovi Music Unlimited. Personally, I deffo think the inclusion of Ovi music unlimited and the car kit makes the 5800 a bit more value for money. What do you think?

There’s no official changelog yet, but we’ll post one if we do come across one. So far reports are coming in about Kinetic Scrolling, New “Contacts Bar”, Automatic change to QWERTY Keyboard Rotation (on text input menus), integrated Ovi Contacts and a more Responsive UI overall. No doubt there are a lot of stability and bug fixes included in the update too.

To get it, run your “Software Update” application and let it check for updates. It should list the Ovi Contacts update if you already have a previous version installed.

Here’s what the official Nokia Press Release said :

This software version enhances the existing functionality and adds new attractive features to Ovi Contacts. The friend request popup has been enhanced to include also the full name and profile picture of the person sending an invite. To get this software through your device, select Applications > SW update. To download and install the selected updates select Options > Start update.

Nokia today announced the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition, device that follows in the footsteps of the million-seller Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, and now comes with lifetime voice-guided DRIVE and WALK navigation licenses, quick access to the latest Ovi Maps software, full regional maps and easy zooming, all with familiar Nokia touch UI and brilliant 3.2 inch widescreen.

The latest version of Ovi Maps (www.maps.ovi.com) includes a number of new features such as high-resolution aerial images, 3D landmarks for over 200 cities, terrain maps, weather service, premium travel and events content and traffic and safety warnings. The enriched point of interest information within Ovi Maps is supported by Lonely Planet, Michelin and Wcities.

Navigation licenses come pre-installed and ready to use, and included in-box is a car charger and easily mountable Nokia car kit.
The Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition also boasts stereo speakers and surround sound, playback time of 35 hours, swift HSDPA internet connection and 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, and memory expandable up to 16GB.

The Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition is expected to begin shipping in the third quarter of 2009 at an estimated retail price of €285 (approx 400 US Dollars, 20,000 Indian Rupees) before taxes and subsidies.

The device itself looks pretty neat, replacing the Red and Blue Trim of the XpressMusic Variants, with a nice Silver Trim instead.

Wow. Never expected an XpressMusic device to be re-released again in a Navigation variant. Guess the 5800 was that popular after all, eh ?

If the price remains the same, and considering the lifetime Navigation license and the included Car Charger and Car kit. this device just might be worth picking up for people who really really want GPS Navigation as a priority on their mobile devices.
