Just a day after releasing the Google Now launcher for all Kitkat Nexus and Google Play Edition devices, the Search Giant is now showing iOS some love as well. The Google Hangouts for iOS app just got a pretty huge update, bringing in a redesign as well as tons of new features.
Version 2.0 of Hangouts for iOS gains a new two-pane view for conversations on the iPad, making better use of that screen real estate. There’s also a new video messaging feature, so that you can record a short video and send it to your friends. There’s also support for animated “Stickers” which makes Hangouts the latest messaging app to gain that particular feature. The entire changelog is:
What’s New in Version 2.0.0
— Fully-optimized for the iPad, including picture-in-picture video calling
— Animated stickers that help you share exactly how you’re feeling
— Record and send video messages up to 10 seconds long
— Send a map of your current location
— Optimized for iOS 7
Available right over at the App Store, for iOS 6.0 or newer devices.
