Following our reveal of the Swipe functionality in the Keyboard of the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 “Blue” Update, here’s a video showing off the eagerly anticipated Action Centre in Windows Phone 8.1.
As can be seen from the video and the screenshot below, the Actions Centre comprises of 4 customisable toggles and notifications from the system as well as third party apps. As on Android & Symbian, the Action Centre can be accessed with a simple swipe from the top of the display.
Windows Phone allows the user the control each app’s ability of interacting with the Action Centre & showing its notifications from a centralised Action Centre settings. A very nifty and convenient feature in our opinion.
As can be seem from the screenshot below, an app can display multiple events via the Action Centre.
Took Microsoft more than a while, but another major shortcoming of Windows Phone appears to be short lived now.
