Nokia JobLens – Use Augmented Reality to find nearby job vacancies
Nokia’s been big on using Augmented Reality in their apps for practical purposes like LiveSight in HERE Maps, and today they’ve released Nokia JobLens for North America, meant to help job seekers.
The app is available for the US and Canada today, and uses the same LiveSight sight recognition technology in collaboration with LinkedIn, Indeed, Zillow and Salary.com, all together to visualize where there are open positions around you.
JobLens(TM) helps you see jobs all around you through augmented reality, and land those jobs through some of the biggest, most respected brands in career services. Powered by Indeed, Linkedin, Here Maps, Twitter, Facebook, Windows Live, Salary.com (US only), Zillow (US only), CareerOneStop (US only), Data.uk.gov (UK only), Payscale (UK only) and other best-in-class content partners, the app enables you to discover new job opportunities in both the physical world and through your social networks.
JobLens helps you every step of the way.
- Find positions that are right for you
- Identify people in your social network who can connect you to the hiring manager
- Create and store your resume/CV
- Apply to the job
- Get directions to the interview
- Get up-to-date news and information about employers you like
- Learn about job location demographics and employment trends in your field
- Save jobs you like and track your progress

Here’s a quick video about it:
The app also allows you to create and submit resumes as well.
Only available in North America for now, but I’d imagine this would come in very useful worldwide. Right over at the Windows Phone Store.
