Temple Run released for Windows Phone

Right, we’re a little late to posting this considering all the drama around it, but popular mobile game, Temple Run was finally released for Windows Phone yesterday.

Temple Run

Unfortunately this isnt Temple Run 2 or Temple Run Oz, newer games that are the current favourite on iOS and Android, but eh atleast one of the running-from-temples games has finally swung by Microsoft’s mobile OS. There were a couple issues with the version that was released yesterday, but there’s been an update since that has fixed the blank live tile (and hopefully a couple other things).

[quote_simple]The addictive mega-hit Temple Run is now out for Windows Phone! All your friends are playing it – can you beat their high scores?!

You’ve stolen the cursed idol from the temple, and now you have to run for your life to escape the Evil Demon Monkeys nipping at your heels. Test your reflexes as you race down ancient temple walls and along sheer cliffs. Swipe to turn, jump and slide to avoid obstacles, collect coins and buy power ups, unlock new characters, and see how far you can run!

Available free, for Windows Phone 8 devices with more than 512MB of RAM. This means that the Nokia Lumia 620, 720 and 520 will unfortunately not be able to download it, but if you have any other WP8 device, here ya go. Also worth noting is that it’s not an Xbox Live game unfortunately but hey, it’s free?

Microsoft’s press release also mentioned 5 other games released for Windows Phone this week, which include 6th Planet (a lunar lander style game), Fling Theory (puzzle game), Orcs Must Survive (tower defence style game), Propel Man (physics-puzzle game) and Ruzzle (a word puzzle game).

At this point in time, there are just as many Windows Phone 8 devices (820, 920, 8X, ATIV S) that can run this 18-month-old game as those that cannot run it (520, 620, 720, 8S).
