Nokia Lumia 928 Supposedly coming to Verizon [with Xenon Flash, Aluminum Build]

This rumor’s been around ever since the Lumia 920 debuted last year but apparently according to the Verge, there’s going to be a Verizon version of the same phone coming next month, but with quite a couple changes.

Nokia Logo

The Verizon Nokia smartphone popped up at the FCC as model number RM-860, and would be known as the Nokia Lumia 928 according to a leaked Verizon document. The Windows Phone 8 device would be made out of aluminium instead of polycarbonate, and have a Xenon flash to accompany the same camera as the Lumia 920.

All that while supposedly being even thinner than the Lumia 920, with a slightly curved back and an AMOLED display.

Hmmm, I dont know y’all, seems a little strange of Nokia to launch a Xenon flash equipped Windows Phone on a US network but you never know. Think this the Verge is right with this rumor?

If true, I just hope people don’t start screaming superlatives about Xenon flashes “all-of-a-sudden”. All I can say is: N8 and 808 PureView. 2010 and 2012 bitches. :)

Haha as a PV 808 owner I am very, very happy with it and dont care about this one. But as a Nokia fan, I’m hoping this turns out to be true, cause it’d rock to have a proper imaging lumia :P

i just ordered a Lumia 920 yesterday and almost pressed the “cancel order” button.

Since I am already using AT&T Lumia 920 from 3 months, I can say that this upgrade will be worthwhile but we don’t know when it will come to India.

This looks like the upcoming Catwalk device (for rest of the world) with Aluminum body, light weight, Xenon flash + 41MP camera but in real world scenarios everyday I have noticed that having such a powerful camera doesn’t matter much.

In real life we just take a quick picture, upload on FB write some comments on it and are done with it. Now, having a better camera is indeed awesome but those having Lumia 920 already have a better camera right now. Its low light capabilities are very good specially when taking photographs inside a room full of lights (office buildings with artificial lights, home) and even in low light.

Having a flagship camera phone is indeed better marketing wise but at the end of the day, you are doing more on your phone than just taking photographs. For rest of the things, Lumia 920 and 928 are same. Same resolution screen, same CPU, same RAM etc.

The AMOLED screen will be better for battery life but it is also not as legible in sunlight as IPS LCD of Lumia 920. I know this cos I have used both Lumia 820 (AMOLED) and Lumia 920 (IPS LCD) outside and in real world scenario Lumia 920 LCD trumps AMOLED of Lumia 820.

The only reasons I find enough to upgrade again is the weight and Aluminum body. Although I find the weight of Lumia 920 to be good enough and not a problem, but something in the range of Lumia 820’s weight with Xenon flash etc is a better deal.

Agreed, as you know I’m a huge Xenon flash fan haha. As such I’d freakkin love to have a proper Lumia imaging device with one. Hopefully there’ll be an international version if this turns out to be true.

The next Lumia worth upgrading from Lumia 920 is going to be EOS, the one with 41mp camera. Lumia 928/Catwalk is good if it is a new buy.
