LG isn’t really doing very well in the smartphone race, but it is slowly getting there. Earlier today, the company announced that they’ve sold over 10 million LTE smartphones globally so far.
The South Korean manufacturer has been doing all it can to push its powerful and affordable LTE smartphones into 4G markets. LTE is still not available in most parts of the world, so this number is not really very global. Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of the LG Mobile Communications Company states;
[quote_simple]Aggressive pushing forward with 4G LTE technology allows LG satisfy the needs of consumers and is a huge factor in our growing success in global LTE smartphone sales. Having established ourselves as a major industry player, we will continue to expand our footprint in the global LTE market with a wider range of differentiated, high quality LTE smartphones.
In markets such as India, even 3G isn’t available everywhere, and 4G/LTE is a thing of the future. Anyway, LG is doing a good job bringing LTE phones to the market and sticking with their strategy. They will probably see better sales when LTE markets grow in number.
