HTC One X, One X+, One S and the Butterfly will get Sense 5 in Coming Months

HTC recently introduced the much improved Sense 5 UI with their HTC One smartphone. There’s plenty new with Sense 5, but will older HTC smartphones get any love? Well, it looks like some will. HTC has kind of confirmed that the One X, One X+, One S and the Butterfly will indeed get Sense 5.

Don’t start celebrating just yet, because there’s more to that last sentence. According to HTC’s Facebook post, not all features of Sense 5 will be available on said phones. Specially those that use the HTC One’s hardware will not be making its way to Sense 5 on the One X, One X+, One S and Butterfly. We also believe that most of the camera related features in Sense 5 will be absent.

[quote_simple]HTC will be offering upgrades to some of its existing devices in the next few months, including global variants of HTC One X, One X+, One S and the HTC Butterfly. Also, note that some features enabled by the new HTC One hardware will not be available in the software updates.[/quote_simple]

The HTC One has the latest Snapdragon 600 processor and a new ImageSense processor as well, which is why older HTC smartphones may not get all the features of Sense 5. HTC says that the Sense 5 software update should arrive in the next few months.

Honestly, I can’t imagine their being any features that the Penta Core Tegra 3 will NOT be able to handle. Probably just an artificial differentiation to ensure people upgrade their phones every year.
