HCL ME U2, HCL ME V1 and HCL ME Y3 Android tablets Launched in India
Indian company HCL released a whole bunch of affordable Android tablets today, starting with the ME U2, ME V1 and the ME Y3, which are priced at Rs 6999, Rs 7999 and Rs 11,999 respectively.
The HCL ME U2 features a 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor, Mali-400 GPU, 1GB of DDR3 RAM, 4GB of internal memory with a microSD card slot, 7 inch WVGA display, VGA front camera, and a 3000 mAh battery powering Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Unlike earlier HCL tablets, this also has the Google Play Store pre-installed.
Then there’s the HCL ME V1 which features a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU, 1GB of DDR3 RAM, 4GB of internal memory with a microSD card slot, 7 inch display at WVGA resolution, VGA front camera, 2 megapixel rear camera, 3G support using a dongle, voice calling capabilities, and a 3200 mAh battery powering Android 4.0. Apparently this will have HCL’s ME App store instead of the Google Play store though.
And lastly, there’s the HCL ME Y3 which features dual-SIM support, a 1GHz Cortex A9 CPU, 1GB DDR3 RAM, 4GB of internal memory with a microSD card slot, 7 inch WSVGA display, VGA front camera, 3.2 megapixel rear camera, 3G and HSUPA network support with a simcard, and Android 4.0 without the Google Play Store.
