64 GB Microsoft Surface Pro tablet only has 23GB of Usable Internal Memory

Microsoft seems to have a serious problem with their Windows 8 Pro and Windows RT versions of their Surface tablets. Unfortunately the operating systems are taking up a lot more space than other platforms, like the 32 GB Surface with Windows RT only having 20GB of free usable internal memory for users.

Apparently the situation is much worse with the Surface Pro which runs Windows 8. The Verge confirmed today, that the 128GB and 64GB models only have 83GB and 23GB of free space, respectively. This might turn out to be a big issue for Microsoft, since people considering their Surface tablets will not be very pleased with not getting the advertised amount of free internal memory. I mean, if you got a 64 GB iPad and only had access to 23GB, would that not be incredibly annoying?

Ofcourse the Surface Pro does have the ability to use a removable usb drive, or a microSD card as well, so that’s always an option. But it doesnt exactly go with the whole ‘tablet’ way of things does it?

I think having a MicroSD option is wonderful and does go with the whole “Tablet way of things”. Windows RT or Pro was always going to be larger than IOS or Android, but I have useable version of Office 2013 on my Surface and with MicroSD cards getting to 128GB and soon 256GB, its the perfect solution.
