Google Play’s magazine subscriptions are a neat way to get your digital publications on the go, but unfortunately if you’ve already been a loyal subscriber of the print version of a publication, you’d still need to subscribe again just to get a digital version of it.
Not any more though, thanks to a neat little improvement over at Google Play, so that now when you choose to subscribe to a new publication, you’ll be offered a yearly subscription, monthly subscription, and see a new “free for print subscribers” option as well.
At that point, you’ll need to verify your print subscription before Google allows you to download free issues, and I’m not entirely sure how that works because I’ve honestly never subscribed to a physical copy of a magazine. Okay that’s a lie, I had a Readers Digest phase, but that’s it, heh.
Definitely a great move by Google, eh? More info right over at the Google Support link below.
