Skype for Windows Phone 8 Updated; Removes People Hub integration

Microsoft updated their Skype for Windows Phone 8 Preview app today, bringing in a couple new features and oddly removing a rather important one.

According to a blog post on the Skype blog, the update removes the People Hub integration, which allows you to view a contact’s Skype information and details right from within the phonebook contact card/tab. Apparently the feature was removed because it was “causing issues with device stability.” The Skype team stated that they are working to bring the feature back in the next update, after ironing out the issues first. Apart from that, the changelog includes:

Buddies from Windows Live Messenger are labeled in the People list.

Added option to enable toast notifications for Windows Live Messenger buddies.

People Hub integration temporarily disabled.[/quote_simple]
