Samsung Galaxy S II & Galaxy Note Jelly Bean Update Possibly Postponed to 2013

If you own a Samsung Galaxy S II or the first Galaxy Note and were waiting for the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to come along, here’s bad news for ya: the update might be postponed till next year.

Samsung Galaxy S II Review

The good news, is that next year is only two weeks away. And from the previous leaks and videos, the software seemed stable and speedy enough on both devices. Apparently the reason for this, is the Exynos multi-device exploit that was recently discovered that affects all of Samsung’s devices. As such according to SamMobile, they’re holding out until they can fix the vulnerability.

A good move on Samsung’s part, though I can imagine there are a lot of anxious SGS2 and Note users out there waiting for the update.

Do note though, that if you don’t mind using Odin to flash a ROM, a leaked Jelly Bean Build exists for the Galaxy S2 since over a month. It is quite stable, with just a few bugs here and there. Definitely worth a try.
