RIM teases upcoming launch with picture of their first BlackBerry 10 phone

Hoping to keep folks interested before their big launch on January 30th, Research in Motion has teased their new Blackberry 10 smartphone over on their official site.

Early leaks of the BB10 phone, codenamed “London” indicate that RIM has designed it similar to a smaller PlayBook, but the teaser image suggests it might be a bit different. The rear case of the phone seems to have a meshed-leather-look that is perhaps also meant to make it grippy to hold.

Definitely looks like a Blackberry phone to me though. No other info about the “Re-designed. Re-engineered. Re-invented” BlackBerry experience apart from the image, but no doubt we’ll know more soon. Looks like Blackberry sure is making the right moves, especially now that Blackberry Messenger has free calls over Wifi. They just might make it out of this one alive, eh folks?
