Sony silently launches web-based store for PlayStation games, movies, & TV shows

In an attempt to catch up with Microsoft’s own web-based Xbox store, Sony has quietly launched a new online store for it’s movies, TV shows and Playstation games, entitled the Sony Entertainment Network.

Sony also has a book store seperately, but this Europe-only (for now) site lets you login and download content with prices similar to the Playstation Store and various other online Sony digital stores. There’s also discounted titles, PlayStation Plus highlights and holiday deals available. Once bought on the store, the product downloads to your game console, or in the case of video, can be played on your Sony Xperia Tablets, supported Xperia smartphones and even your PC or PSP, PS Vita and PS3.

Apparently the store is still under testing, which is why Sony hasnt made a huge announcement for it just yet. Still worth checking if you’re in Europe though. Right over at the link below.
