ZAGGkeys Keyboard Case Pro Plus for iPad Hands-On [video]

If you type on your iPad a lot in dark rooms, here’s good news for ya. ZAGG announced a new iPad keyboard case the other day that is backlit, and even changes colors.

The ‘ZAGGkeys‘ come in Pro and Pro Plus versions, both of which magnetically attach to or iPad to be used a case. They connect over Bluetooth, and just like the previous keyboard case, has keys specifically for iOS, like a Home button, Lock button, etc. There’s also volume controls, but only the Pro Plus version has backlighting, with 8 different possible colors.

Now the backlit keyboard does change your battery life if you turn it on, but you can still get a couple weeks on a single charge if you use the backlight constantly. The Pro (not-plus) version without a backlight, has battery life of 4-6 months ish, which is pretty awesome.

What’s most interesting to me in addition to the backlit keyboard, is the fact that it also acts as a case, magnetically attaching and staying secure to your iPad.

Not too bad at all. Expected to be released in Europe somewhere around the end of September with the PRO version costing $99 and the PRO Plus for $129. Here’s a quick hands-on video to give you a better idea:
