A mysterious unnamed Samsung executive has apparently told the Korean Times that their upcoming Galaxy S III might include a next gen quad core Exynos chip that will have LTE and WCDMA onboard.
Both the Samsung Galaxy S II and the original Galaxy S were created with Samsung’s own silicon so it’s not a huge surprise as such. The source states that Samsung is looking to be a more self-reliant company and to distance themselves from Qualcomm which usually provides soc solutions to other manufacturers. The new AP might be 32nm, sporting four A9 cores instead of the more powerful A15.
Now all we need is for Samsung to announce the darn thing already!
