At yesterday’s event, Apple said their new iPad’s A5X supposedly has 4 times the performance of Nvidia’s Tegra 3 Chip. That’s the best chip Android has on their team.
There were no benchmarks or footnotes on the slide that claimed the faster processor, and as such Nvidia is calling Apple’s bluff. Nvidia spokesperson, Ken Brown, said that “it was certainly flattering” for Apple to call them out, but they’d like to see some data backing up those performance claims. “We don’t have the benchmark information, We have to understand what the application was that was used. Was it one or a variety of applications? What drivers were used? There are so many issues to get into with benchmark. At some point it will become more clear what the performance really is. For now, Apple has a really generic statement.”
