Very much like the LG Optimux 2x which was a pioneer in early dual core Android smartphones, LG have announced the Optimus 4X, their first Quad core Tegra 3 Android smartphone, thankfully running Ice Cream Sandwich.
It has a 4.7 inch IPS HD 720p display and of course the 1.5 GHz Quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor inside, that powers the slab. It also has a huge battery rated at 2150 mAH, and thanks to the nifty companion core in Tegra 3, the low power scenarios like “Standby” and other mundane tasks will draw very less power from the SoC.
Other than 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, there are not much details, but I am sure the specs are all up to the current standards, or may be exceeding it somehow. Oh, and according to the press release below, it is 8.9mm thick and has MHL and DLNA for connectivity extras. 8.9mm is pretty badass! I don’t know what “electromagnetic features” mean. Compass?
On a side note, I already feel like MWC is well on the way, while it hasn’t even started. Apparently Koreans haven’t heard of “Calm before the storm”.
