LG announced a new LTE smartphone today, dubbed the Optimus LTE Tag.

The Tag includes an NFC powered “LG Tag+” feature that uses the technology to communicate with physical stickers or tags to perform various functions. LG will be supplying tags that can be placed in your office or car, to activate a certain setting for a certain scenario, for example. You could switch your phone to silent in the office by just tapping on a tag, or tap on a tag in your car to turn on Bluetooth or GPS, etc.
Available in Korea today, the Optimus LTE Tag boasts a 1.2 Ghz Dual Core Processor, 4.3 Inch display, 5 Megapixel Camera and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Only available in the white color though. No word on any international launch plans.
