WSJ – LTE Equipped iPad 3 coming to AT&T and Verizon

According to The Wall Street Journal the iPad 3 will ship with LTE onboard, for both AT&T and Verizon bands, according to “people familiar with the matter.”

No word on whether Sprint will get in the mix though, but WSJ’s report states that “When LTE isn’t available, the new iPad will default to a slower network technology” which could mean 3G radios in addition to the 4G LTE. The iPhone 4S is a single SKU available for all carriers thanks to it’s dual mode GSM/CDMA radio. It looks unlikely that Apple will stick to one for the iPad 3 if this is the case, which could make things slightly complicated.

Good news for our U.S readers eh?
