The latest rumor is that there actually might be a pair of Google Goggles out there, making it more than just an image recognition app.

Over at 9to5Google, their source claims to have seen a pair of glasses being prototyped at Google, that would run Android and would connect to the cloud through local Wifi or tethered to the internet over a Bluetooth connection to your phone.
There would be outward facing cameras capturing the world, and overlaying the ivideo with contextual location data, similar to most augmented reality apps. That all would be displayed on a screen over one of the two eyes. Supposedly you’ll be able to navigate the user interface by tilting your head, and the glass will have a decent amount of horse power behind it, just one generation behind current Android smartphones.
Now there’s the chance this is just a prototype that might never see the light of day, but hey it’s a neat evolution of the ‘mobile phone’, eh?
