HTC announced that they found a security flaw in a couple of their Android phones, and have issued a fix for the affected smartphones.

The security issue was basically about secure info being vulnerable while on a Wifi network. The affected smartphones were the Desire HD, Droid Incredible, Glacier, Thunderbolt, Sensation, Sensation 4G, Desire S, EVO 3D, and Evo 4G.
HTC has developed a fix for a small WiFi issue affecting some HTC phones. Most phones have received this fix already through regular updates and upgrades. However, some phones will need to have the fix manually loaded. Please check back next week for more information about this fix and a manual download if you need to update your phone.
As you can imagine HTC is trying to downplay the issue, and claims the fix has already been implemented in most of their devices that had the security issue, but some devices might need a manual update. With the heavy customizations that HTC puts into their sense UI, it’s not the first time a security hole has been found. The Android operating system is admittedly, less secure than the competition and as such manufacturers who heavily customize their own UI on top of the OS, make the situation worse.
No wonder folks decide to stick with the Nexus series of devices, eh? If you have one of the devices listed above, head on over to HTC.com for more info about the fix.
