Looks like Apple just poached Sony Ericsson’s U.S Division president, Anderson Teixeira, who is now Head of Apple’s Latin American division.

The Brazilian has been with Sony Ericsson since 2001, and was formerly Sony Ericsson’s head of Latin America, before he moved to Germany to become head of SE Western Europe, before settling into this role in the US in 2009. That means he’s experienced with three markets, which makes him pretty useful, eh?
Apple just recently opened up a factory in Brazil, so that’s probably gotten something to do with it. More info at the source.
