Nokia is planning to invest Rs 250 crore to generate 500 jobs in their India operation.

The company is seeking permission from India’s Commerce Ministry first, and is looking to restructure with the huge investment in plants located in the Special Economic Zone in Chennai, India over the next three years. The change in business model includes streamlined processes according to Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar from India’s Board of Approval which has to allow Nokia to implement it. The topic will be discussed tomorrow, January 24th at the next meeting at India’s board of approval.
Pretty huge investment eh? Indian Rs 250 crore is somewhere near $55 Million.
