Microsoft’s Skype client for Windows Phone seems to be close to a release according to a video interview with Skype’s VP of products, Rick Osterloh, who stated at CES 2012 that they were “working on a Windows Phone product that will be coming out soon“.

The popular voice and video calling service was supposed to come to the platform late 2011 according to Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore, Director of the Windows Phone program, but that date passed without any word from the company According to The Verge, the app will be released first, with deep Windows Phone integration coming in the WP “Apollo” update.
