Here’s something that’s kinda cool, but not completely related to Mobile.
In the spring of 2010, Shivakumar of Nokia India and Sita Raina of the Peninsula Studios germinated the idea of the ‘Nokia Music Theater’. In the winter of 2010, Nokia reached out and recorded 722 musicians from small villages and towns in Rajasthan, India. The Peninsular Studios evaluated over 3600 minutes of recordings helped by a jury of 32 well known musicians. The team curated the music and mentored 17 musicians over three months in the summer of 2011. These great performers then worked together to produce a world class recording of 10 great songs. These tracks were mixed and mastered in London for an Album release in the spring of 2012. Due to this effort, these musicians will get an oppurtunity to get known and find patrons for their talent. Nokia is taking this music to the world as ‘Nokia Music Theatre’.
The editing is a bit strange but it’s a pretty awesome thing for a brand to do, imho. Check out the video below:
