Nokia Play To updated with Belle Support, Homescreen Widget

Nokia Play To just got an update this week, bringing in a new Homescreen widget for Belle devices.

There’s a new release 10.2.10 for NOKIA BELLE ONLY of Play To with localization, improved connectivity handling from the status bar and on/off -homescreen widget.

If you faced installing problems and you have “ODML commons repository” installed in Settings… Application installer, try removing that. It’s a part of some old Maps Beta that stays on system persistently. Re-install Maps if needed.

Incase you havent heard of the app before:

Nokia Play To lets you show photos and videos taken with your mobile to your friends wirelessly on your TV. Or you can listen to your favourite music stored on your mobile with your home audio system. Just launch Play To, select the device and media you want to play. No configuration is needed once WLAN is on and all devices are connected to the same network.

Nokia Play To is meant for playing media stored on mobile i.e. it is not possible to access other DLNA devices with it. We wanted to concentrate on creating a solution for easily enjoying mobile media on a big TV screen or with an audio system. If you are familiar with DLNA technology we are supporting push and server functionalities with our current implementation.

We expect that there can be interoperability issues and for those, we need your help. So please give us feedback and help us to develop our application further.

Available over on Nokia Betalabs (Sign-In required).
