We’re always on the lookout for affordable portable chargers, and the peeps at MobileFun lent us something to keep our mobile phone battery going for a little longer.

Here’s a quick review of the Pama Plug n Go Power Portable Charger .

The Pama charger comes with the usual set of charger-pins, for all modern smartphones. From Apple’s propriertary iPod cable, to microUSB, miniUSB, Nokia 2mm, etc it’s all in here. Which is a relief if you’ve got as many devices as we do.

The Pama battery in this review is a Lithium ion Polymer 4000mAh battery with 0.2V (DC5.5) output volt at a max output current of 1000 mA, and is available in Black and White. It measures just 115 x 60 x16mm so it’s portable enough. Similar to the size of an average smartphone nowadays. There are also LED indicators to let you know charging status, and remaining battery levels.

There’s two ports on the Pama charger. One for the DC input, to charge it, the other is the USB Output to charge your smartphones. Unfortunately it didnt seem to be able to charge our iPad so it’s limited to just phones or bluetooth headsets for now, I’d think.

The DC input port has a red led to show it’s being charged, which turns green when it’s done.

On the right side you have the On/Off switch. This is a bit of a drawback seeing how the Pama wont automatically switch off if you arnt charging anything.

On the left side you have the LED Indicator. There’s also a button here that you can press to see how much charge is left on the battery, which is displayed using the four LEDs in the indicator.

We managed to fully charge up our iPhone 4S and Nokia Lumia 800 from a complete discharge, with more juice available to charge up our Galaxy Note to about 80 percent before running out. Not bad at all, eh?

There’s only so much you can say about a portable charger, so we’ll conclude our review here. The Pama charger does what it’s supposed to do. It’s portable for the amount of charge it stores, and you have a variety of charging pins available to charge almost anything out there. The build quality is solid, albeit a little plasticky.

Still, for the price of £30.95, it’s quite recommendable. You’re getting a 4000 mAh battery for the price most competitors sell their 2000 mAh packs at. Listed on Mobile Fun as the PAMA Plug n Go Charger, with 30 days money back guarantee.

I ordered the charger and got it just one day later, which is incredibly fast shipping, considering I live in India.
