As we mentioned last night, both the Nokia Lumia 800 and the Lumia 710 is officially on sale in stores India, and it was marked by a quick mini-event at Nokia’s Store at the Ambience Mall Gurgaon (Delhi NCR).
I reached there a little before the event was supposed to begin, and the store had a decently large crowd waiting outside. I hadnt seen that many people in a Nokia Store, since the N95 was launched.
The surprise celebrity, popular Tennis player Sania Mirza was also apparently on her way there too, to hand over the first Nokia Lumia 800 devices to folks who were the first to pre-order it in India.

As if that wasnt enough, Nokia India announced a suprise gift to folks who bought the Lumia 800 yesterday: A brand new Xbox 360 with Kinect. I know a couple countries also had that offer going on, but I didnt think it’d happen here in India too! Dayum.
After the excitement died down a little (and boy was there a lot of excitement) there was a Lumia shaped cake cut, and the new owners of Nokia Lumia 800s were on their way.
The Nokia Lumia 800 is priced at Rs 29,999 and the Nokia Lumia 710 at Rs 18,999. Probably cheaper depending on where you get it from, but that’s the official price.
Nokia India’s marketing the Lumia Windows Phones like there’s no tomorrow, so I cant wait to see how those sales numbers turn out. So far it deffo seems like it’s working.
