Sony India launches the Tablet S and Tablet P

Sony launched their Android tablets in India today, with the Sony Tablet S going for Rs 29,990 for the Wifi version (3G version at Rs 33,990) and the Sony Tablet P for Rs 36,990.

The curvy Tablet S boasts a 9.4-inch IPS display with Sony TruBlack and Bravia technologies, Wifi, Terga 2, a full-size SD memory card reader, Bluetooth, and a ‘long-life’ battery. There’s also an IR port on the back so that it can act as a universal remote for household appliances.

The claimshell Tablet P offers the same hardware specs but has two five-inch 1024 x 480 displays that work in concert to provide a compelling Android experience. The two screens can work independently or together. For example one can act as a keyboard, while the other does email.

Both tablets are Playstation Certified and can control and and interact with the PS3 via Bluetooth. The Tablet S WiFi version is available today, but the 3G Tablet S and Tablet P will only be in stores by mid January 2012.

Gotta admit, I like that Sony’s tablets are different from the competition. They might not catch on, but I deffo like the radical designs behind them.
