Motorola explains what they’re doing so you can get an Ice Cream Sandwich update

Motorola Mobility posted on their blog, explaining the steps they have taken before they can release any updates to devices for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

That includes things like getting the source code, merging with their existing frameworks, then there’s bug testing, carrier certification, an initial pre-release to some folks in the real world, and then a final release to everyone.

They havent given us an expected time on when we might be getting the update on Motorola’s devices, but the manufacturer did feel it apt to remind everyone that the Droid Razr, Xoom tablets and Droid Bionics will be getting the upgrade to ICS.
