Gasp! According to the cinematographer of the upcoming Joss Whedon Marvel Comics Avengers movie, Seamus McGarvey, some shots in the movie were taken with an iPhone.
Before you ask, there’s no word on which iPhone, but the movie was made way before the iPhone 4S came out so maybe the iPhone 4? In an interview with IFTN, Seamus said:
The beauty of photography or cinema is that you make every choice based on the content at hand. On The Avengers, I did a couple of shots on the iPhone and they are in the movie. In fact, they are in the trailer! I understand that sometimes there is no choice and you have to go for the cheapest option, but if you are limited for choice, you can still make poignant decisions that will effect the look of the film
Egads. Check out the kickass trailer below and let us know if you can spot which scenes were recorded with an iPhone. Also, out of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and the Hulk, who’s your favourite? (Iron Man pwns all btw).
