All the cool kids are talkin’ bout HTML5 these days, and a lot of Mobile Platforms are moving from Flash to HTML5-support to make things less unstable in-browser. With that in mind, I figured, why not check out how Windows Phone Mango (on my HTC HD7), did against iOS 5 (on my iPhone 4), both just released earlier this month, and compare the two to the great browser on the Nokia N9 with MeeGo Harmattan UI. So we pointed all three browsers to HTML5test.com and whatchya know:
Out of a maximum of 450 points, iOS 5 leads the pack with a score of 296, followed by the N9 with 255, and Windows Phone Mango waaaaay back with a lousy 141. Sigh. Well it is mobile ‘Internet Explorer‘ after all. When friend-of-the-blog Vaibhav from TheHandHeldBlog did a similar test, his Gingerbread-equipped Samsung Galaxy S2 got a score of 184 which is better than the WP Mango score here.

To put things in perspective, the latest version of Firefox got a score of 313, while Safari got 293. The Symbian Browser on my N8 got (heh) 42 points.
Anyone surprised by the scores?
