India’s PVR Cinemas releases an iOS and Android App

Popular Indian Movie Cinema franchise PVR Cinemas has released an iOS and Android app today.

I’m a big fan of all things movie related, and I tend to visit my local PVR Cinema to watch movies with my friends a lot so I was very happy to see this one pop up in my email. The app lets you check timings for movies that are currently running, as well as allows you to find a PVR cinema close to your location, and what movie’s playing there. You can also watch trailers, get movie info or book your tickets through the app.

Check show times for movies running in your area
Choose seats of your choice & book movie tickets by paying through your credit card in a secured environment. This app also allows you to hold your tickets and pay later at the box office.
Check out a movie synopsis, watch high-quality trailers & view movie posters
Locate a PVR near you
Get information on latest and upcoming releases
Find theatres using your location
Keep a track of your booking history
Facebook Connect
Receive discount offers & deals

The app only lets you book tickets with a credit card though, so you’ll need one handy to do so. Or you could just book the tickets and make the payment at the PVR counter at the movie hall. Available free on both platforms. I cant speak for the Android app, but the iOS app didnt seem very well made. Images werent very high quality but that just might be to save on bandwidth.
