Unfortunately bit of news came my way via @qoyumnasri who let us know that the APAC Symbian Anna update (for Singapore and Malaysia), for the Nokia N8, C7, E7, C6-01 (and Symbian Anna on the X7) does not have the split screen keyboard that the update has bought to the rest of S^3 users globally.
The Official statement from Nokia Malaysia on their Facebook Page is:
Hi Symbian users, for Singapore and Malaysia, split-screen messaging is not available for Anna software – devices affected include Nokia N8, C7, C6-01, E7 and X7. However, Nokia is working on supporting this feature with the next major Symbian software update. In the meantime, Symbian Anna has other user-interface enhancements that we believe you must not miss. Please check out www.nokia.com.my/anna. Thank you all for your patience!
So if you’ve updated over to Symbian Anna on your device and are not seeing the keyboard, here’s why. Hopefully it’ll come along soon for the affected users. But geez, that’s a lot of waiting.

hey,, how to make my nokia split screen ? i really need the split screen keyboard
thanks jonas i'm not in malaysia but removing conversation server and conversation app gave me back my split screen. Only after i up dated the 1/2 and 2/2 anna the split screen went away but now i have it once again, cheers mate
hi guys i cannot update my Nolia N8 new SW version.Any solution for this
I had the same problem, i suggest you update your ovi suite first cuz after i updated it i was able to update phone firmware to anna
One remedy to have your split screen is go to menu>seetings>application manager>installed apps> uninstall conversation server and conversation app. either reboot your phone or not. it works for me
