Nokia E6 Review: Camera Samples [Image+Video]

The 8 Megapixel Camera on the Nokia E6 might be ‘full’ focus and EDoF (which is totally, like, against everything we stand for) but it does take some pretty okay shots provided the situation is right.

So y’all can judge for yourselves, here are a couple Image and Video Camera Samples from Nokia’s latest Eseries monoblock.
Mid-to-Long range shots:

Conclusion:

So the E6 actually does pretty well in mid-to-far range shots, capturing a decent amount of detail and spot-on colors. In daylight, or well lit scenarios, the E6 should be able to handle pictures fine.

Night and Low-Light Shots:

Conclusion:

Night pictures are surprisingly decent. Sure its nowhere near a Xenon Flash equipped camera phone, but most pictures are decent enough. Things do tend to get blurry in night pictures though, even though the E6 doesnt need to focus and has literally no ‘shutter‘ time.

Close-Ups:

Image 3:

Conclusion:

Uumm… yeah you get the picture. No close up or ‘macro‘ mode means things that are too close will be completely out of focus. In some cases, like Image 1 here, the camera will instead focus on something farther away than the object you want it to, thanks to the EDoF lens.

================

And then there’s Video. The Nokia E6 records 720p HD video at 25 frames per second (fps). Here’s a video camera sample:

In Daylight:

At Night:

Conclusion:

So video in daylight is pretty good, with a solid or near 25 fps throughout. In night though, it does suffer just slightly, having problems adjusting colors and such.

================

So there you go. Decent shots in daylight and well-lit scenarios, terrible at close-ups, okay at night shots. What do you think of the Nokia E6′s camera? Good enough for a Business user?
