Nokia Video Cuts evolves into Nokia Shoot & Tag introducing intelligent shooting

Remember Nokia Video Cuts, the experimental scene based Video gallery app from Nokia Research Center, Beijing? Well, they have taken it ahead & evolved it into Nokia Shoot & Tag, a video recording application for Symbian^3 and S60 5th Edition phones that incorporates automatic scene-tagging technology.

As explained by the Nokia Betalabs post,

When filming videos with Shoot & Tag, the video tagging technology automatically recognizes shifts or changes in the background images being recorded and will tag the change as a new scene or chapter in your video.  After
you finish recording, you can quickly browse through your video’s scenes by simply clicking on the pre-organized scene frames located on the left side of the screen.

To get a better sense of what this app does, check out the demo video -

Since this is an experimental project, the team is looking forward to your feedback on how they can develop this project further.

So go ahead, please download the application from Nokia Betalabs.

Although do note, that this app does not support 720p video recording at the moment. So if you love shooting in that crystal clear HD goodness, you might want to stick to the default camera app on your phone.

Thank you! You're the first blogger to realise that this is actually an evolution of Nokia Video Cuts.

Thanks mate. It is clearly mentioned on the blog post, so I wonder why the other bloggers didn't mention it.

Note

We just went through a pretty massive rebranding from ZOMGitsCJ to UnleashThePhones. You might see a couple broken links, or missing images or strangely sized videos. If you do, please let us know on Twitter or using the Contact Form.
