Apparently the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic just got a firmware update to version 52.0.007 . Its previous firmware was 50.0.005.
The 5800 does have UDP (User Data Preservation), so while its always a good idea to backup all your data before the firmware update, none of your programs or data should be affected with the update.
The update has only come to certain Asian Product codes at the time of posting, but no doubt it will be available across all regions and product codes soon.
Remember you can update using the 5800’s OTA (Over-The-Air) feature, or if you prefer you can download Nokia’s Software Updater application to update your 5800 on your windows PC.

It is avaible in the philippines? i update my nokia 5800 in 51.0.006 firmware, then when i update for 52.0.007 it says no update avaible? what's wrong.?

hey guys … i live in spain and we are still stuck here with version 50.0.005 (which is NOT the previous version as stated in the article) … so we haven't even got v51.0.006 yet … nokia says that this is up to the provider (telefonica) … can i still get the 52.0.0.007 from somewhere else and if i do install it, will it cause problems with my provider (like crashes and such)? …
Hi Crimson. You could try changing your product code with NSS and flashing another product's firmware on your device, buuuttt it's a bit of a risky operation, yeah.
thx mate ... i think i rather wait for the update to arrive for my phone ... i'm not exactly a computer- or mobile wiz and i really don't like the word "risky operation" in connection with my new mobile phone ... ;-) ...
Don't waste your time, to write a new code for your phone, just download and Install JAF, and then download the original firmware with navifirm, and then flash your phone, but befor flash or take something, read post from JAF and Flash 5800. I use the PNHT c6 software for my phone, and it's a great firmware :)

I would also like to add that I am still awaiting a proper Nokia program for push notifications for facebook and twitter, using the app Socially, but then again an integrated app by nokia is always welcome
5800 is a good phone, with a very good screen, though i wish that nokia can allow us to add widgets on the home screen like n97, otherwise the homescreen is wasted. i tried SPB shell, but somehow the third party app just didnt fit in....
i updated mine but there's major improvement in performance and more free ram .
iam happy nokia is still developing updates for 5800. Though there is no significant change in 52.0.007 update. But it has come far from the initial release. Good going nokia.
There is one correction. Previous version was 51.0.006.
now the topapps application is not showing error while starting as is showed in v51.0.06!!!1
Gotta appreciate Nokia~Constantly providing updates for a 2 year old phone!Goes to show how good of an OS symbian is.Too bad they didn't adopt themselves well for the touch generation
