The Nokia N900 Firmware PR 1.3 (V20.2010.36-2) has apparently finally been officially released, and should begin rolling out to devices today. It’s previous software version was PR 1.2 (V10.2010.19-1).

The update brings along a couple improvements. The Official changelog is:
Latest software release for Nokia N900 is 20.2010.36-2 *
- Nokia Ovi Suite support added
- Performance improvements
Be patient if you can’t see an update yet, as it will come to your time zone at some point in the next few days as it will roll out region by region.
This update can be installed over the air by users. To install the new firmware on your device using Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA), launch the Application Manager and select “update”. You might want to use a WLAN/Wifi connection and avoid doing this over GPRS/3G if you’re on a limited DataPlan, since the FOTA update is reportedly quite large. OTA software updates is available now in UK, other countries have been scheduled to get it tomorrow.
An update via OTA usually retains all your data and settings, but just incase it’s always advisable to make a backup of your data, just incase.
You could also use Nokia Software Updater. Make sure your N900 has a Sim Card inserted and is on the “General” profile. I havent done this on the N900 yet though, so I’m not entirely sure if an update via NSU retains all your data, or wipes it out.
You might want to uninstall any apps from, or disable the extras-devel first, too. Always remember to make a backup of your data, just in case.
If you have an N900 and noticed anything new with this firmware update, or anything we missed, do let us know in the comments below !
