The Samsung Wave has an amazing screen but it can only do good if it has appropriate software backing it up. The Bada OS handles it well, but let us see how it works out in the individual departments.

The music player deserves a review of its own. It is just packed with goodies.

The interface is really slick and the sound quality of the phone is top notch as well. There’s hardly anything that we can complain about. There even is a music recognition option!

All songs open extremely quickly and the built in speakers are pretty loud as well. An audiophile would be astounded by the quality of the sound through the earphones. Bass beats hard and eerie songs really do send chills down your spine.
Even the lock screen has some music themed additions. Samsung has really thought this one through.

The notification bar drops down with a music controls when a song is playing in every screen giving you quick access to your music whenever you like.

What we liked most was the landscape view that quickly allows you to browse through your selection and find a song you like.

The only downside to the experience is that there are no buttons on the earphones that allow you to change songs say while riding a bike, when the phone is in your pocket.
The video player also functions with absolutely lag. Seeking within a video is also very smooth and fast. Watching videos on this device is a delight. Videos from Youtube open in the default player as well

The Internet Browser is remarkable.

Flash content opens smoothly and all panning zooming etc are very fluid.

Multitouch works well and double tap to zoom focuses on the text that you want to read, even in landscape mode.

Unfortunately there is no auto reflow of text to fit the width of the screen.
The on screen controls sometimes do get in the way, but it is something that you can easily work around. The browser supports full screen mode as well.

We were very impressed by the ability to copy text from the browser straight into the messaging application. It was a breeze.

The application department did not disappoint as well.
A dedicated Twitter and Facebook application comes preinstalled.

We also found many interesting applications on Samsung Apps. They many not be as large as that of Apple’s or Android’s , but they sure aren’t small in number.
Layar application surprisingly does not come preinstalled, but is available on the store for free.
There isn’t a dedicated pdf reader but all pdf downloaded from the internet open up by default in Picsel File Viewer.

Here are screenshots of some of the applications available on the market

Fake Caller

The games department is really where this phone shines! The quality of some of these games is incredible.

We found it really hard to put down the phone once we started playing games like Edge, Asphalt etc.

Edge
Edge is one of the most addicting games on the market. If you have this device it is a must check out game.

The processor and screen really come together in delivering a very capable gaming platform. Samsung will need to encourage more developers though, but it will get there eventually.
