Iphone 3G users were promised a sizeable performance upgrade with the release of iOS 4.1. The guys over at Lifehacker took it upon themselves to carry out some informal testing with the new firmware running on an iPhone 3G. Here are their results:
Messages: iOS 4.1 Wins (By a Little)
Maps: iOS 4.1 Wins (By a Lot)
Photos: iOS 4.1 Wins (Just Barely)
Safari: iOS 4.1 Wins (Just Barely)
Ok so it’s not a huge improvement. But it should be enough to satisfy those 3G users who’ve been lumped with a slow OS for some time now. If you’ve got a 3G, have you noticed a performance improvement?
