Your iPhone/iPod – What’s On It? Part 1: Social Networking

What are your just-can’t-live-without apps for iPhone/iPod touch? Me personally, I just couldn’t survive without these bad boys:

Part 1: Social Networking/Communication Apps

Facebook

The Official Facebook App. Better than using the Facebook Touch site on the inbuilt Safari Browser.

Twitter

The Official Twitter App. Very useful application, loads of options and includes the option to search tweets.

Windows Live Messenger

Official App. While some would say there’s no point in using this until it’s updated for iOS 4 to support multitasking, it still has the best Windows Live interface and includes the option to check your Hotmail inbox – in app.

Skype

Another Official App. While this version does not include video calling (unlike the Nokia N900), it looks great, supports instant messaging, contact management and audio calls.

Foursquare

Foursquare can really suck you in if you’re not careful. Check in to different locations around you, using location based services. Check in to a place more than twice, and you become the mayor of that location – provided someone else hasn’t already beat you to it – and unlock a nice achievement badge for your troubles.

Nimbuzz
An all in one IM application, allows you to set up multiple accounts including Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo!, Skype and Facebook Chat.

In Part 2, we’ll take a look at the best of the Productivity apps.
