We think it’s still a bit too early to be talking about iPhone 5. I mean, iPhone 4 has pretty much just been released. There’s always potential for a revision of the current model, however.
We’re basing this entirely on the history of iPhone evolution and a hunch. But here’s a list of the features we think will make it to the iPhone 4S:
- A4 Processor running at 1Ghz – instead of around 800Mhz
- Fixed antenna issue
- Facetime over 3G networks
- Even better battery life
- 32 or 64Gb models
- Desktop/Lock Screen Widgets
- Improved loudspeaker performance
- Thinner design, although it’s hard to see how right now
- No more AT&T exclusivity in the US
Some features we’d like to see
- Wireless syncing with iTunes
- Message notification led (similar to Android phones, N900)
- Bluetooth file sharing
- A slightly bigger screen
- HDMI Output
- Better earphones included in the retail packaging
So, it won’t be a giant step up from the iPhone 4, but a nice upgrade for 3GS users who aren’t entirely sold on the iPhone 4 experience right now. What features would you like to see in the next iPhone revision?
Apple releases a new iPhone every June/July. Hope that answers your question!
