The Nokia E52 gets a Firmware update to version 051.081

Apparently, the Nokia E52 has gotten a firmware update to version 051.018 today. It’s previous firmware version was v034.001.

The E52 does have UDP (User Data Preservation), so while its always a good idea to backup all your data before the firmware update, none of your programs or data should be affected with the update.

Remember you can update using the E52’s OTA (Over-The-Air) feature, or if you prefer you can download Nokia’s Software Updater application to update your E52 on your windows PC.

If there’s no new firmware detected for your device yet, it might be because it hasnt reached your region product code yet, or maybe your device is carrier branded. It should roll out to all product codes eventually though. So far it’s only been available for some EURO and Middle East product codes.

HW Specific change:
PR3.0 includes SW Support for Rapuyama 1.13 (previously Rapuyama 1.11 supported).
The phone main processor version is going to change. This component needs the software update because of component ID’s are determined in software.
There are no electrical changes which can effect to RF performance or normal customer use.
This HW change will be implemented for production during P2 period in 2011. Next
Maintenance release PR4.0 is going to be mandatory update.
Altogether 450+ errors are fixed.
