In what must be one of the most awesome things I’ve seen a phone do, the Nokia N900 can now also phone calls, just by thinking about it. Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?
Well it’s quite easy you see. This has been possible by a Qt based application called ThinkContacts, paired with a NeuroSky MindSet. All the interaction between you and the app, is done with your brainwaves (which is why the NeuroSky Mindset is needed). It uses the NeuroSky to send to an analog-to-digital converter and the sends this digitalized info to the N900 via Bluetooth. That is then translated, using an algorithm, and the signal is passed on to the ThinkContacts app which makes the call.
Eesh okay maybe that wasnt so easy. To get a better idea of all that, here’s a video demo:
