Yes, We’re Going MultiBrand. But We’re Going to Take it Slow

After all the mayhem my tweet caused yesterday, I figured I should clear things up a bit for y’all.

Yes, ZOMGitsCj.com is going Multibrand. From the massive feedback we got on our little survey, a lot of y’all wanted us to check out other devices, which made this decision easier. However, there were a few who wanted us to stick to just Nokia news. Hence,like the title says, we’re going to take it slow. It’s hard enough for me to keep track of just Nokia news, other brands is going to be a whole new ballgame. If anything, trying out other platform devices will only make my reviews better.

Yesterday, I started using my first non-Nokia mobile phone in 7 years of sticking with the brand. Ofcourse, it’s a trial device, but it runs android, and so far I’ve been way more impressed than I thought I would be.

It’s funny to say we’re going “Multibrand” since ZCJ was originally supposed to be about any devices we came across, regardless of branding. However, Nokia excited us, and they were the only manufacturer that bothered to return our emails and send us trial devices. But that was two years ago, and (thankfully for us) other brands have finally smartened up.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, yesterday I was a Nokia Blogger, today I’m a Mobile Device Blogger. I’m not jumping ship, I’m not switching brands, I’m just broadening my line of sight.

We hope you enjoy our coverage of devices we get. We promise we’ll try to go over them as thoroughly, if not even more intensely, than in our previous reviews.

Totally agree with Mark, that's a very important step in the process of improving your mobile reviewer skills and knowledge. Also, I really believe that even a website specialized in Nokia phone (or else) should be watching closely what is going on outside. Because you just can't “rate” a Nokia phone if you don't know what Samsung is doing (for instance).
