The Senior Release Manager at the Symbian Foundation, Mark Skrebels, recently posted on twitter that Symbian^3 is now functionally complete.
While this might not really mean much to the average user, it does inspire confidence in the fact that all Symbian^3 devices are well on schedule to hit the market in the second half of this year. While it might not be feature complete (there could still be minor changes here and there), it does mean that it is ready for the community to start developing it further.
Here’s a short video where Ian Hutton from Symbian outlines what’s been happening recently in the FRC and what’s coming up.
More details over in the latest Symbian Foundation release plan (PDF Warning).
