The First version 1.0 release of MeeGo was…uhh.. released today.

As of right now, MeeGo v1.0 is available for download, for Netbooks (UI version, supporting Atom-based machines) and for the Nokia N900 (only the core version though).
The API released includes Qt 4.6, and while the current SDK is made more for netbooks, the next version (releasing to devs in June) will also support “touch-based devices, such as handsets and tablets.” Apparently v1.1 will be released later, in October, with the development tree already being open.
The layout definitely looks pretty cool, atleast from that screenshot. Check out MeeGo.com and the MeeGo Blog for more details on the release, and how to try it out yourself!
Anyone manage to get this installed on their netbook or N900 yet? Let us know in the comments y’all!
well i did try out the live version on my aspire one netbook. but there were issues that kept me from doing a full install..such as no native support for mp3 and no support for mounting ntfs drives. i am sure there is a (complicated) workaround for this, but these are basic issues that a end user would not want to deal with.
