And now the Nokia N900 can run Android 2.1 too

The Nokia N900 just keeps getting better y’all. As if running Ubunto Mobile, Mac OSX 10, and Windows wasnt enough, apparently a smart young fella called “dj_steve” has been able to get Android 2.1 running on the N900.

As awesome as Maemo 5 is, I know a couple N900 owners who are still a bit fond of Android. This should seriously make them happy, eh ?

According to dj_steve, he is working on his own kernels for NITDroid-N900. He’s also posted all the updates in this NitDroid Homepage. Accordingly, here’s a list of some hardware features that work and those that dont yet with Android on the N900.

Functional:
Touchscreen
Keyboard
Bluetooth Drivers Load but no android support yet
wifi drivers in kernel
sd and internal storage detected but not set to mount yet
Not Functional:
Sound
Bluetooth
Charging
Battery Status
Phone
Accelerometer
Unlock/Lock switch on the right side
Microphone
FM transmitter
FM Radio
